Which Colosseum Ticket Gets You Where in 2026

Five ticket types, three access levels, and one site that confuses almost everyone. A plain breakdown.

The site is three places

The 'Colosseum' ticket actually covers the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. They're next to each other, but you enter each separately and your ticket controls which ones you can get into and when.

The main ticket types

24h Ticket: one timed entry to the Colosseum's public levels, plus the Forum and Palatine within 24 hours. No arena floor, no underground.

Full Experience – Arena: adds the arena floor and the Forum/Palatine 'SUPER' sites such as the House of Augustus. Valid two days.

Full Experience – Underground: everything above plus the hypogeum. The most limited ticket by far.

Attic / upper tiers: occasionally sold as an add-on, giving views from the highest levels.

Which one to buy

First visit and short on time: the arena ticket is the sweet spot — you get the iconic floor view without the underground scramble.

If the underground is your main reason for coming, book a guided tour with reserved access, because official slots are rare.

Whatever you pick, enter the Colosseum first in the morning, then do the Forum and Palatine afterward. Shade is scarce, so carry water — there are free fountains (nasoni) inside the Forum.
